Northleach is a pretty Cotswold market town in Gloucestershire with a market square dating back to the 16th century and a church dating back to the 12th century.
Northleach is close to the A40 main road, and the Fosseway, now the A429. The town was made wealthy by the medieval wool trade of the fifteenth century, and the main church is of impressive size and quality in reflection of this fact.
The Wheatsheaf Inn is a lovely seventeenth century Cotswold stone coaching inn situated in the centre of the Cotswolds in the historic market town of Northleach. The surrounding area has been designated as an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ by English Heritage.
Inside the inn there are cosy wood fires, good food, real ales, great wines and nine double bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms. Sit with a pint by the fire, have some oysters (which arrive in daily from the English coast) at the bar, enjoy a Sunday lunch with family and friends or just stay for a while.
The inn has 9 double bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms (with showers). All rooms have irons, ironing boards, hairdryers, flat screen TVs and tea and coffee making facilities.
